Photographer’s Note

Ketchikan's historic red light district is reflected in the calm waters of Ketchikan Creek, as the high tide pushes the creek up under the pilings of the boardwalk. Dolly's House, with its bright, red door, has been preserved as Dolly left it, and visitors can climb the rickety stairs to peek into drawers, cupboards, and closets of Creek Street's most famous lady of ill-repute. This shot was taken in the late evening's, blinding sunshine, after the tourists had left and quiet returned to the area.
