Photographer’s Note
The passengers aboard the small expedition ship 'Sea Lion' getting the 'up close and personal' experience close to the face of Margerie Glacier, in Alaska's spectacular Glacier Bay. I, on the other hand, had to make do with a more distant view from the decks of my much larger cruise ship, Holland America's MS Statendam.
From a RAW image - sharpness courtesy of the superb Nikon 70-300mm VR glass. (See also the 'Large Version').

I like the panoramic broad feel to this one and the rugged textured terrain forming the backdrop. Good composition and good work. The reflection of the cruise is also well seen and captured. Lovely colours

Salam,
Beautiful shot ..the cruise looks like a toy in comparison to its magnificent nature around it.great shot.

Hi Jeff,
A sharp panorama shot - looks downright cold out there but probably worth it for the view. Well seen and good to hear the VR lens is keeping things steady. Fine shot and TFS. Gerald

Hi Jeff,
Wow, the full size really conveys how huge this scene must have been, making that ship look so tiny in comparison. You are spot on with the clarity here, that lens sure is a pretty impressive piece of work, must look at it for my own long range needs. Were you maxed out at the far end, 300mm for this?
