Photographer’s Note
A 4th of July posting, the uniform blue sky also tributes the uniforms of the Italian team in their victory today. The eagle is wild, this is not a from a zoo, I cropped and adjusted perspective, I will add the original version to workshop, also a version with the flag in focus, the timing was difficult as the beast kept turning his head and as I walked closer, just flew away. Bald eagles are plentiful and easy to photograph in Homer howerever, together with the US flag is more tricky. This is at Homer Spit in the early morning. I lost the info on which lens was used, this was probably a large zoom telephoto, one of the WS versions show a wider view.

A beautiful patriotic contribution presented today. The eagle is simply dignified and the flag in the corner is pretty.
A simple but well balanced and timely contribution, I'm glad you convinced the eagle to pose so well.

Good timing to get the Eagle into the shot with the flag as described. The colours & contrast here are excellent (the clear blue providing a perfect backdrop). And the crop works well.
A very appropriate posting for today (well it's actually july 5th here right now, but you know what I mean!).

I've actually been the the Homer Spit, but the only thing I remember is that it was wickedly windy. Nice combination, with the two elements combining to give this classic symbol of America. I'm very impressed with the detail visible in the eagle, especially those talons!

Hi Tan
A fine contribution to the celebration of 4th of July.
I like the WS photos as well and the stories behind - better keep small dogs in safe distance :-)

Hi Tan,
You got the symbols together and well positioned in the frame. I like the eagle turning his head. (looking back?, fear?)

Hello Tan:
You were very lucky to see this two symbols meet at the same location, very well done, and I find the cropping works.
I am sad to say that however these symbols automatically evoque images of militarism in my head which is a shame.

Hello Tan,
Daniel.

Hi Tan,
As far as symbolism goes, you couldn't get anything stronger than this image and your associated workshops. You could have posted any of these images as the original: they're all good.
This image is beautifully composed and it's wonderful how you've been able to capture both the eagle and the flag in such close proximity. The colours, particularly the incredibly blue sky, are fantastic and the detail is stunning. It's impossible to find any fault with this photo. Also, the note for this (and the workshop images) is really good.
Excellent work and an perfectly chosen time to post it.
Hugs,
Tony

Very thoughtful picture Tan. I just got back from a vacation in Alaska. Great place to be and strange as well. Good positioning of the subjects here.

Interesting shot Tan Yilmaz. The gods were smiling on you on that day, as they say. I like the composition and cropping the top was a good decision as this way its better balanced. Many of the critiques mention symbols, i wonder whom or what does the little, unleashed dog that you mentioned represent? Cheers, Klaudio

Tan, c'est la bonne photo avec le bon cadrage que tu as fait là. C'est une photo qui devrait ravir tous les Américains avec ces deux symboles. La lumière et les couleurs sont superbes. Beau travail !

I am amazed that this is not in a zoo, but I guess in alaska the eagles are more abundant.
you are indeed right to title this as "symbols". this could be on a coin or something.
well done
