Photographer’s Note
Boats, trailers, buses--all reach the end of their useful life eventually. Here on the Homer Spit in Homer, Alaska is where some of them come to rest. The city authorities apparently do not approve of this being located on a prime tourism spot, but the landowner apparently got a permit through the system somehow. We photographers probably don't mind as much as some other people do.

Hi Ken,
I really like the warm sunlight and the subject is nice. Personally, I think there's a little too much going on between the boat and the mountains. I know you had no control over that.
Still a nice, sharp "Daily Life" capture. Thanks for sharing..

Good morning Ken -
Nice warm light on the boat. I am surprised that the boat is a wreck or abandoned it looks sea worthy. The rest of the junk in the image does not help but it is part of the landscape and your reason for thaking the image. Just goes to show that good light can make junk look good.
Thanks for sharing

I like all these boats leaning at strange angles, your first tip off that something is wrong with them. The light in this shot is great Ken, and elevates this from the ordinary to something special.
