Photographer's Note

The Volendam cruised Glacier Bay National Park for one day. If not on a cruise ship, people take small tour boats to see white mountains and blue glaciers, sometimes they are quite choppy. Because beginning of the June is still early in the season, floating ice prevented cruise ship for getting closer. This image was taken from very far distance. The condition was not ideal for a good picture.

In the Glacier Bay, there are16 major tidewater glaciers (those that go all the way to the water) and 30 valley or alpine glaciers (those that compress between two hills but donít extend all the way to the water). If you take a look closely, you will see a glacier at the base of the snowy mountain.
