Photographer’s Note
The Cheyna River runs right through Fairbanks. After a driving rain the previous day, the sun shone. Canoes and jet boats plied the Chena River. Further upstream, there is a hot springs resort. I'll post a picture of the hot springs in the workshop.
The blooms in the foreground are called fireweed in Alaska, because they bloom best after a fire. I see them in photos from lots of other areas but nobody seems as proud of their fireweed as Alaskans. Morel Mushrooms also grow after a fire. In the previous year's burned areas, there were lots of mushroom pickers. Mushroom buyers had also arrived from all ovr the country.

Hi Patricia, this is beautiful. The parallel lines of flowers in foreground and trees in background is superb. The reflections too. And that little red boat stands out nicely and provides dynamics. I'd never imagine this is Alaska. Bravo! Regards, Daniel

Nice scene with good colours. I like the way you framed the view with flowers and the reflections you captured in the water. It looks to be a perfect place to take a walk and relax..
Good job!

Hi Patricia,
Good composition and good setting. I like the flowers in the first plane, and the water with the reflexes. The boat with people uses as reference to see the real dimension of this zone.
Good work.

Bonsoir Pat,

Patricia
I really like the composition of this photo, particularly the row of flower that is included in the front of the picture. Alaska is one place I really want to visit, and your photos motivates me to do that sooner. Thanks for sharing.

Serwus Patricia !
Another serene view in Your Gallery. I love such spaces, surrounded by the greenery (and how many shades!) with their peacefull, quiet atmosphere. You composed this vista very well. Forground' blooms are nice touch, good proportion for them - not disturbing but enhancing. The light was also good, that's why overall clarity is great. Maybe the boat is too far in the frame, but it is still nice to include people in such scenery.
Thank You,
Mat

Hello Pat,
The fireweed by lakeside is a most common sight here too during summer!
I like this tranquil scenery far away from urban stress...
Well composed image, however small the guys in the canoe attracts my eyes!

Hi Pat,
Beautiful sharp brilliant colors and lovely details to this far away river. The fireweeds are most colorful and the bright red canoe lends depth and a lived in look to this remote beauty.

Hi Pat,
Even though I lived in Anchorage for a year I never made it up to the Fairbanks area. My dad and I planned on hunting caribou north of this area until he was transferred. I was not pleased about this, but when I become older, I understood the the reasoning behind it. I'll bet that Dolly Varden "trout" (actually a char) lurk in these waters. Beautiful shot of this lovely area. My wrist are starting to twitch from wanting to cast my line into this river to catch some fish! Excellent photograph!
