Photographer’s Note

One of the shuttle busses that take visitors on trips into Denali National Park along the 91-mile (146 km) road from the George Parks Highway to the mining camp of Kantishna.

Denali National Park and Preserve is located in Interior Alaska and contains Mount McKinley (Denali), the tallest mountain in North America. The park and preserve together cover 9,492 mi² (24,585 km²)!

I took this shot during a stop near the end of our tour. The light was pretty dull and the sky overcast but I got some light on the mountain side and managed to tickle some detail out of the clouds.

Canon 400D, Sigma 17-70 f2.8 @ f8.0, 62mm, 1/125sec, ISO100, handheld

Had the bus been not there the shot would not have that impressive. Good composition of landscape and colors.

Hi Hauke,
You visited an original place, not sure a lot of people went to Alaska ! I hope you will post other pictures of this place I don't know at all. Very nice composition, with a dull but beautiful light. These moutains are very beautiful and I like the scale of them we feel thanks to the shuttle bus. TFS.
