Photographer’s Note

This is taken from Reflection Pond near Wonder Lake in Denali National Park, Alaska. Thousands of images have been taken from this spot, but I couldn't help doing it myself. It is rare that the mountain is out of cloud in the summer and even rarer that the pond is still at the same time.

Lovely shot. Yes it is often photographed and I can attest to the rarity of Denali and pond cooperating with the photographer's derires. Congrats!

Hi Norm:

A rarity is right. I read recently of a photographer who visited Denali every year, and it took him 14 years to see the summit of the mountain--every other time the summit was covered in clouds. The light is a bit strong, so you have quite the blue cast to the picture, but otherwise it's a lovely shot. Way to be in the right place at the right time.
