Photographer’s Note

Yep.... all busy. Packing and getting ready to go home tomorrow for a week. Trying to get everything ready for myself and three boys and have it in the car and be ready to get up, have coffee and hit the highway north. YAY!!! Visit my family and friends, show off my boys, have a big old Thanksgiving dinner. Oooooooooooh, I am SOOO ready. I hope you all have a fine week and and great Thanksgiving if you celebrate it. Take good care!!

This is a very effective macro shot. I'm impressed by the definition you get with the Sigma 18-200 mm lens. Here of course the dark blurred background provides an especially effective backdrop to the plant.

I don't usually look at flower shots on TE, but your title made me curious, expecting the busy bee; sure enough! Incredible detail and effective DOF. I like the angle at which you have placed the flower and stalk. The colour and light are pleasingly natural from your excellent exposure, and the square format is really the only option for this one. Great work.
