Photographer’s Note
It's been a rainy old gloomy day here today. The baby's been cranky, the boys have been fighting, my bones ache and this shot suits my mood perfectly. I took this last summer at home during a mad summer rain storm. Changed it from color to sepia and the only difference is - the weather here today is cold. Well, guess cold is a relative word. More like kind of chilly. :)) Hope y'all are having a better day than this.

Hi Shelly. Even in the thumbnail I could sense and see the aggressive mood from mother nature. Lots of movement, an impression that one has to rush to get away from the rain and wind.Lots of atmosphere here. Well done. Regards. Klaudio.

Cordiales salutations,
Emilius

Hi, Shelly.
The architecture is different, everything else looks just like Amsterdam today, yesterday, and tomorrow... hehehe! Actually... it's quicker to say it looks like Amsterdam for most part of the year!
Excellent job in PP, great moody shot, I like it a lot!
Have a nice weekend, guess what : we'll get nothing but rain over here...
See ya soon, HUGS.

Hi Shelly
The mood was well captured. A little movement in the car and the rain falling is a nice touch indeed. Good choice to use a monotone presentation.

Hi Shelly! Hope things are better today:). This gives me a feeling, enhanced by your note, of Desperate Housewives, a Wisteria Lane (although the houses are of different style) suburb feeling. I like the way you have managed to show the rain very neatly. As such it is a simple view, but there is a lot of mood, the passing white car, and the sepia tone being important in it too. (which makes me thing that it never rains in DH, but for that tornado:-).
Kind regards
Michèle

hello Shelly,
if it wasn't for the architectural style of the houses this could be Scotland this summer, at least my part of Scotland. You have certainly captured the driving rain very well. Your sepia treatment enhances the gloomy mood too.

Yes, Shelley,
you managed to convey that kind of mood.... and it's not easy.
This one is a kind of picture that one is apt to underestimate from the thumbnail, but once opened... ah! Really good. We should remember not to judge a photo witout seeing it large.
I like the sepia tone and I like the composition which have some dynamic. And beside all it's interesting to see what you see from your window... imagine if we all in TE would do the same...
Have anice week end,

Two different scenes in your compo, one showing the beautiful houses nicely detailed, and on the other one move the cars. Dark luminosity and colors B&W well. The rendered Interesting shot with the contrast between the FG and the back, very well capture, good effect and sharpness, beautiful architecture enhanced by the rainfall. Good POV.Regards compliments

Bonjour Shelly,
Une composition très originale et tout à fait réussie! Le noir et blanc lui va à merveille et accentue cette ambiance de tristesse.
Amicalement

Hi, Shelly,
I can feel the rain in this picture so well. Superbly caught and just right for sepia. Interesting that the tree in the foreground looks like the one in your South Carolina yard. I'm glad to say we have not had much rain for a week or more, and the brief hours of daylight are sunny.
Warm wishes,
Winifred

Hi Shelly,
Cheer up Shelly before you know it you will be back in W.Va. eating turkey and cracking jokes.
The b&w format fits this gloomy image very well.
My granddaughters were fighting the other day and I said I can't wait till Christmas cuz Santa was bringing me a state of the art "Acme Spank Machine" All you have to do is place the brats in the Acme 5000 and turn it up to extra naughty-no fuss no muss.

Hi Shelly, A great photo of this torrent of rain, you have captured the downpour brilliantly, putting the posting is a B/W medium was a super choice & the gray frame is perfect, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Shelly,
When I look at this picture I amost feel at home. The difference is that there is no sepia tone here, just dull grey, and than...there is no heavy rain, just moisture. You walk in a grey, wet cloud and the temperature is approximatively 3° C with a nice north-westerly chilling your bones. Oh, I forgot to tell you we have this weather for over a week now and the forecast is snow for the weekend.
Greetings from cold, wet Luxemburg
