Photographer’s Note
Got back from home Sunday evening... We had a great trip going there, but coming back?? Oh, my word.
It rained from the time I started the car until about an hour before I pulled in the driveway. There was a heavy fog and bumper-to-bumper traffic on an Interstate highway through the mountains. It took me 9 hours to make what is normally a 6 hour drive.
It was a wonderful trip, though. Soooo good to see my family and old friends, had a GREAT Thanksgiving dinner, saw one of my brothers I only get to see maybe a couple of times a year.
There wasn't much to photograph. Most of the leaves were already gone and they said it didn't really get outrageously colorful. These little berry trees were all over the place, though. I don't know what they are and I didn't even see any birds eating them. The only part of this picture I am really happy with is the sun to the left, but i hope you enjoy it. I am still recovering from my trip.

The lighting is good and the colours are rich .. is that a lens flare on the left?

Hi, Shelly.
Glad to hear you had a good time back home with your family. Colorful and dreamy still life, I've seen these berries around since I was a little kid and I still don't know their name nor what they are...
Have a wonderful day, I'll be seeing you.
Hugs,
Fulvio.

Hi Shelly
Welcome back. Glad your trip went well. I like this a lot as the berries have a softness to them and they reflect the sunlight that is coming from the left. Good selective focus.

Welcome back, Shelly! Nine hour drive - you must have been exhausted. I hope you stopped often on the way.
This is a brilliant reproduction of the fruits of a flowering tree. The lighting makes the skins look soft and ready to burst if you touch them. I wonder if they are? Or are they really hard like the hawes of our hawthorn?

Hello Shelly,
Nice macro with a right play on the deep of field isolating the fruits on a blurred background.
The lightning was very good and put well in evidence the colors.
Yes, a very nice macro photo,
Yves.

Hi Shelly,
These bright red berries are seen throughout the northeast during the winter months.
I have often seeen them photographed white fresh snow on the trees.
Anyway they make quite a brilliant appearance against the lovely blue sky background.

Hi Shelly,
The feel for this shot is great, and a very apt title too! The hard red and soft blue contrast well against each other in a pleasing way.
Only one thing though, it seems the photo has been over sharpened a bit. There are some hard zig-zag edges on the straight lines and high contrast points, like around the edge of the berries and along the twigs. I'm going to guess the original shot probably wasn't well focused? Either way, your vision to see the shot and compose it in this way makes that less important!
have a good weekend
Lee
