Photographer’s Note
Wish I were there....
This was taken last fall because I haven't had a chance to go home yet this one. Not until Thanksgiving.
The taller buildings you see run along the Ohio River on the West Virginia side. The hills in the distance are on the Ohio side of the river. And then on our side just down the way is Kentucky.
Country roads... take me home... to the place... I belong... :))

Hi Shelly,
WV is so beautiful and still SO pristine... I passed through Wheeling once, about the same time of the year you took this shot, and it all looked just about like this : simply... wonderful!!!
I definitely can understand you feeling homesick. Well, Thanksgiving ain't too far away...
Have a nice day, I'll see you soon.
HUGS,
Fulvio.

Hi Shelly,
The Huntington hard woods make an excellent frame of blazing red to surround the lovely old town.
I can see why you wold be homesick for such a lovely seasonal landscape.
Thanksgiving is a great holiday I know you must be looking forward to.

Hello Shelly
The rule of thirds is respected very well(The sky, the city and the mountain further and the trees in the foreground). Colors are very good and I wonder if i'm right when I guess that the building on the left side is the older one among those four tall buildings?
Best regards
Denis!

What a beautiful place you are living in. I am so jealous. Here where I live has so few trees. And mostly very flat. I really like mountainous area like this. Beautiful autumn colors. I wish you can come back soon. Well done. Sothy

Amazing colours, Shelly! You would not quickly tire of that view. I hope you get back before the trees are bare.
Just a thought, have you tried what it looks like if you crop off most of that featureless sky? Seems to me it would make the red even more intense.
Warmest wishes,
Winifred

Hello Shelly,
The burning brush effect created by the trees really does make this time of year alluring. We can look forward to another month or so of these warm colors of autumn. The layered look of the trees in the foreground and the buildings in the back, then more trees in the distance — all collaborate to make this a memorable site. I can see why you enjoy visiting the landscape of your roots.
Have a good Sunday,
Bulent

You found an excellent POV for this shot, Shelly. All the rich brown tones of the foreground trees are what makes this shot. I think you could have cropped away about half the sky (and a little bit off the LH side to return it to landscape format) to enhance the impact of the trees in the foreground. Cheers . . . David
