An evening silhouette Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this shot when I was home in April. It's been processed and setting in a folder. I was standing on my mama's porch and it was a glorious sunset. Just as the sun was about to sink below the horizon I caught the tree in silhouette. I loved the way the sky was all orange behind it. Hope you enjoy it.

Hello Shelly,

The lacework of bare branches creates a compelling shot. But instead of the sun, if it were the moon, with the background blue, the atmosphere would be entirely different, a bit haunting even. I like the image very much.

Stunning, Shelly! Sharp without being oversharp. Just gorgeous colour. I love the mug on the windowsill catching the light, and the balance between the tree trunk and the house. Perfect frame.

Lovely combo of golden tones and the black of the night.
The old oak tree really makes for some compelling patterns and textures to the end of day silhouette.
