Photographer’s Note

Built in 1894, it is located on the corner of Granby and Freemason Streets in Norfolk, Virginia. The church was built of granite and sandstone in the shape of a cross, the sanctuary provides a large seating capacity. There are twenty two stained glass windows which are original to the sanctuary. The four corners of the dome of the sanctuary each have an angelic figure which represents the cardinal virtues done in fresco. The building was dedicated in 1896. The press of the city declared this to be the handsomest ecclesiastical structure south of New York.
