Photographer's Note
Old Cape Henry Light was the first lighthouse authorized by the new United States and was completed in 1792. It sits at the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay and guides the approach to Norfolk, Virginia and further up the bay to Washington DC, and Baltimore, MD. It is on a small hill and the structure itself is only 90 feet high(27m). The light was replaced by New Cape Henry in 1881, my next posting.
