Photographer’s Note

A scene from the Shenandoah Valley, considered Virginia's Hunt Country. The U.S. Highway 50 rambles into the heart of Hunt County, through pristine countryside and centuries-old villages field with fieldstone houses and historic country inns. Old ivy-covered rock walls border magnificent estates where long tree-lined driveways lead to elegant mansions, and pampered thoroughbreds loll about in fenced green pastures. The highway travels west, through Loudon and Fauquier Counties in the Piedmont foothill, and then crosses the Blue Ridge Mountain at Ashby 's Gap into the northeastern Shenandoah Valley.

Hi Danilo,
To me that's beautiful countryside of the kind I currently miss greatly. The gentle rolling hills of the man shaped countryside have been captured beautifully and I like your chosen 'tabac' style colour presentation. The foreground tree has some lovely colours and is important for composition, whilst the background fields and trees have some lovely shades amongst them. A really lovely photo, thanks for sharing with us!

Amazing colours in this fine view!
The autumn is present in every element, in particular the harvested fields with the distinct lines adds impact...
The lines in the landscape adds dynamics and make my eyes move around the frame!

Incredible color tone in this landscape scenery to show the warm mood and very soft touch. Very well composed with the FG golden yellow field and the stretch of green really stands out.

Truly very impressive capture of the moment's light to give such effect of autumn color.

I think this is the prettiest fall scene on TE this year with the contrasts between the wide open gold & green fields. The low light sets everything aglow. Just beautiful!!

Hello Danilo,

It is good to see an image from my own 'back yard,' so to speak. I live in Fredericksburg, Virginia. And it is js just from a month ago, when I was in Charlottesville giving some lectures, and saw similar countryside. The Nikon D300 in the hands of a skilled photographer can do wonders, and indeed with the polarizing filter presents this bucolic scene of rolling hills and valleys as a placid, alluring area.

the greens celebrate the vibrancy of mother earth, a great highland vista. the oranges are reminders of beautiful fall, and the yellows offer subtle memories of warm light of the countryside. maganda!

p.s. I've just read on your profile that you like to listen to Joni Mitchell. Well, since I discovered her music (only in 2007 - shame on me) I became and consider myself a great fan of her. Unfortunately I think she's not very known here and maybe even in the US (at least by the new generations).
