Photographer’s Note

Last weekend was a good time to drive through Virginia's Hunt Country. Even though it is located just a stone's throw from the nation's capital, Virginia's Hunt Country could well be in a different universe, for all the similarities it shares with that of pulsating metropolis.

U.S. Highway 50 rambles into the heart of Hunt County, through pristine countryside and centuries-old villages field with fieldstone houses and historic country inns. Old ivy-covered rock walls border magnificent estates where long tree-lined driveways lead to elegant mansions, and pampered thoroughbreds loll about in fenced green pastures. The highway travels west, through Loudon and Fauquier Counties in the Piedmont foothill, and then crosses the Blue Ridge Mountain at Ashby 's Gap into the northeastern Shenandoah Valley.

Hi Danilo, this image has a lot of commercial value. The low-angle light hitting the trees and creating the soft shadows, plus the diagonals leading the eye through the shot, makes it very marketable. The focus is a little soft on the leaves, but that is minor. It is an excellent photo.

Wonderful autumn scene captured with natural colors and nice low light, the presence of the curved wooden fences an the bilateral lines of trees with the road in the middle produces a superb composition. Excellent shot.

WOW!! Great framing, the strongly graphic elements of the fence and the three tree trunks really highlight the soft glow of the autumn color. It looks like the road leads ove the hill to a river. With the lovely light, detail and color as well, this one is a real winner!!

hi Danilo. What an eye-catcher you got here. Wonderful ambiance thanks to the colours and the light, but what makes this shot very different is the pattern and the lines provided by the fences. Superb composition, Danilo. The fences make a very attractive graphism and this diagonal coming from the corner is perfect to organize the image. Good contrasts and wonderful combination of saturated colors. A very autumn image.

Belle photo de cet endroit qui ressemble a une entrée de ranch au texas. Jolies couleurs d' automne qui font bien ressortir les rangées d' arbres qui mènent vers le ranch car ces barrières ressemblent a celle des ranch dans les films. Bonne netteté et beaucoups de détails ressortent grace a cela.

Hi Danilo,
the colourful capture with that long and winding fence is very attractive in its composition. I like the good light which brightens up the capture. Some more sharpness at the leaves should not be wrong in my eyes.

Hi Danilo. Felt like driving down the smooth road as my eyes kept on grazing down the beautifully placed fences. The shot with a superb POV matched with coloured canopy of the leaves and soft shadow lazily smooching the path is wonderfully composed. Had been to Virginia but missed this locale. Danilo, this view is soooo pretty ! It's my idea of heaven, such an idealised landscape with happy colours... Personally I would have sharpened it a little but you had certainly your own reasons to leave it like this but otherwise, it is more than perfect, to me it's like a dream !

Un parfait cadrage un peu intime sur cet endroit somme touts 'banal'.
L'irrégularité des barrières me plait beaucoup.
