Photographer’s Note
Under a tree canopy, I watched with my dog the funeral of a young American who died in the Afghanistan war. The ceremony was formal and reserved for war heroes. I saw his parents but wondered where his friends were. A solemn sound from the bugle waffled in the air. My dog got upset and started a most disturbing howl, I covered his mouth to silence him, he bit me and started running away. I chased him. A sad day indeed.

The story is priceless Danilo. A true tragi-comedy.
The photo shows a lot of distance and formality on such a sad and intimate occasion. The short lawn, the overhanging tree, they are all very well placed.

Hello Danilo,
I like the way in which you report the way in which you lived this event. The image of this hard reality is rare and very interesting. I like this made description of the ceremony. The respectful photograph of people is perfect in spite of a a little white sky. Congratulations.
Have a nice sunday

Hi Danilo!
Sad theme, the funeral I mean, but beautiful photo, after all death is part of our everyday life! Excellent natural framing with the branches, great composition, and beautiful colours! Congratulations!

Hi Danilo
Arlington Virginia is very famous as THE place where Americans recognise their war dead. A superb capture of the sombre & poignant ceremony. Tfs!

Hola Danilo,
I'm sorry about the soldeir who died in the Afghanistan war, one more in the extense list. You found a very angle. The idea of you as the observer who is not disturbing the funeral is evident and I like this feature. Great shot!

Hi Danilo,
I didn't think it would be possible to get so close to such a ceremony, and even take pictures of it in the ongoing paranoid atmosphere.... Well captured scene, with even the coffin visible...

A fine capture of this poignant and I'm afraid often seen scene these days. Your note says it all.

Hi Danilo. I hope you are not hurt from just a friendly bite. This is a solemn occasion with solemn mood captured well from the wide canopy in the foreground. The image is sharp and men in uniform are in perfect discipline. Good framing and well done. Best regards. Jusni

Hi Danilo,
I read it your note, sad and thought-provoking. The time comes when nobody has to die for the peace possibly. The time comes when the last word will not be that of the weapons possibly. Unfortunately, we have to live many similar days yet till then. I tell you thank you for having showed the photo.

Hi Danilo
A sad day indeed. Being killed when defending your own frontiers is heroism. Dying elsewhere is a useless waste of human resources. I'm really sorry for young people to be lost like that
Have a good day
