Photographer’s Note
This pear tree has grown on this small island of grass in the middle of the garden for as long as I can remember. The pears are wonderful for cooking. The house in the trees behind it belongs to my Mother. I'm standing to the side of my house taking this photo. My Uncle lives directly across the road from my Mother, and one of my sisters lives next to him up on the hill. We all share these gardens each year. Wonderful food, fresh peas, okra, tomatos, corn, squash, etc.

Stephen, your note is reminding me that it's about time for dinner ;-) Very nice effect with the opposing sunlight shining - no, breaking - through the pear tree and creating a beautiful backlight. The setting with the tree as the most colorful object standing on this "lonely island" is quite unique and makes it stand out even more. Great post-pro, this one looks really good.

I really like how you shot this scenery against the sun light. And under these lighting circumstances you did very well. The only thing that I miss here is that one completing object, that would make the composition more interesting.

Looks like we both have fruit on our minds, Stephen. :o) I like this view of the whole tree with the backlight too. Really unique. Your note about the families living nearby and sharing just makes this very TrekEarth, and brings us home with you.

I tend to agree with Edwin, there is a lack of something, which I can't define, but this is a wonderful idea and a good compositio. Very well done.

Not badly, in spite of the strong luminosity the sight is good and the interesting colors, a good idea and an original photograph

So you are a close family Stephen. That is nice to "hear". To shoot against the sun is really difficult and i think you managed well. I think a human precens wuold make the picture complete. Mabye your dauther picking/pretending to pic a pear...just an idea. I really like tha backlight on the lower branches of the tree.
