Photographer’s Note
This is another picture of my series in a night in Africa in Texas. After the event finished, the y all came outside the stage, and have their pictures taken by their friends or reporters. I was lucky enough to have her agreed for this pose. Again, I am very pleased with my 200mm lens which makes me both look like a photographer/journalist and help me to capture this clear image.
It is kind of cool when I carry that lens. Look like a tank, and everyone smiles at you when they see you because they think that you are a reporter :) They they were happy for their pose.

Hi Sothy,
I have read once that it helps a portrait by placing an eye spot on the vertical axis of the picture. That's what I did in a workshop (hope you don't mind) and I must say it looks better to me. Don't ask "why ?" I have no answer for it, it's just a feeling, but I would like to read your opinion about this 'effect'.
Regards,
Guy

Hello Sothy, I agree with the previous comment that her position in the frame is not optimum. Besides, I think the overall image seems slightly underexposed, and there's a a bit of blur because of the very low shutter speed (1/40 is way too low for a 200mm lens without a stabilizer). I'm posting a workshop for you.

Hi Sothy,
Very nice portrait. I love the smile on her face. The tight framing works very well. Good job.

Hello Sothy,
A splendid portrait from this lady, I've the same lens but it's very difficult without IS, I make my portraits with a 85mm lens, but you did very beautiful, also the lady is a lovely subject for a excellent portrait.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a nice week,
John.

Hi Sothy!
Great cheerfull and full of life portrait! Excellent tight framing, great foculs and great use of the horizontal framing. Perfect exposure and "shallow" depth of field. Congratulations!

This is a lovely face, beautifully exposed, Sothy and sharp. The pyramid composition is very strong and you have placed you subject in the perfect position, well to the left of center. The grey-blue bokey being just right. The composition sweeps up from left to right and gives her a sort of monumental quality. (she has the poise of a sphinx!) Hey! Even that stray curl of hair gives it a nice light touch. Don't change a thing. Regards Kevin

Hello Sothy,
Just as in your previous portrait, A Night in Africa #3, here you have caught a winning smile in your subject. You have a knack for assisting your subjects to relax and to flash the most compelling smiles. Beautiful composition, impecable exposure, and vibrant colors -- all collaborate in making this a superb portrait.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Sothy,
Lovely portrait of this lovely lady. Her hair looks great as does the smile you captured. I like the way you have framed the photo, tight.
Cheers,
Debbie
