Photographer’s Note

This photo is taken in the desert lands north of the I-10 just east of El Paso. The community is called "Las Colonias". A "colonia" by US gov't definition is an unincorporated community where residents often lack land title and there are not full services. These are not quite squatter communities since the motivation to "subdivide" usually comes from a rancher seeing the potential to seek greater rents from the land.

Hi, I found this scene to be interesting, however I thought the bright sky here caused the rest of the photo to appear dark and somewhat dull. Also, the horizon was not level. I posted a workshop in order to try to fix these things.
