Photographer’s Note
Taken from near the baggage claim of Dallas Love Field.
While DFW is the primary airfield of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, Love Field handles most of the Southwest Airlines traffic for the region.
One of my responsibilities in leading a team of students to Peru this summer was to pick them up at the airport as they arrived from all over the nation, as well as students who were members of teams traveling to other areas. 90% of the students flew into DFW, but five or six used Love Field, where i was assigned. As i waited for my next flight to come in i saw this boy just outside the window, and liked the silhouette.
The original picture includes a lot of foliage above the boy, but i didn't find it a very strong composition, and also i was pleased with how the crop kept the emphasis on the contrast between the boy and the sign.
i still have a number of pictures at home from before the Peru trip that i'd like to get up, but i moved into college recently and don't have access to them until i next return home.
Special thanks to singuanti for some equipment recommendations--i was really pleased with my outfit, simple though it was, this summer.
