Between 1986 and 1995 the Fred Hartman Bridge was built over the Houston Ship Channel, connecting La Porte, Texas to Baytown, Texas, so that larger ships could reach Houston docks. Previously the two cities had been connected by the Baytown Tunnel running under the Houston Ship Channel. Upon completion of the Fred Hartman Bridge the Baytown Tunnel was removed so that the Houston Ship Channel could be deepened. It is the longest of only two cable-stayed bridges in Texas.

Hi Jim,
the bridge has a very interesting geometrical architecture. The colors of the photo are pastel and fit the composition very well. Unfortunatly, we don´t see the whole bridge (in the right).
Nevertheless, well done.
