Beale Street *
A historic area of downtown Memphis, TN, Beal Street is lined with restaurants, clubs, and shops. The famous B.B. King's Blues Club, where people from all over the country come to hear the very best in blues. For nearly as long as Memphis has been around, Beal Street has been a place where people have gathered for food and music. Every year, Memphis In May puts on the Beale Street Music Festival — a three-day music concert event right next to Beal Street, to celebrate the music. Memphis is a one of a kind city for blues music, from W.C. Handy to B.B. King.
Downtown Memphis is your night time destination. Whether you are out for dinner and a movie, or shopping, or even looking for a place to hang out a while, Beal Street is your place. There are so many different things to see and do you will have to come back just to get to everything. Music clubs, bars, and a short distance away, Peabody Place. Peabody Place is downtown's premiere shopping destination. Tower Records, Dan McGuiness, and several other great places to shop, eat, and have fun. (Source)
I took my 13-year-old nephew to Ride-The-Ducks-of-Memphis tours after reading their ad, “Get amphibious when you Ride the Ducks of Memphis, which guides guests through famous downtown Memphis locations before splashing down for a tranquil cruise at Wolf River Harbor. Let the famous "duck" vehicles chauffeur you around the city and then splash down for an unforgettable cruise of Wolf River Harbor. Your host for this unique journey is a U.S. Coast Guard certified Captain, who is also an expert on Memphis and can tell you some very interesting facts about the birthplace of the Blues.”
The cost for adult admission ages 13 and up is $20.90/guest. As I was about to pay for the tickets, my local nephew made a deal: instead of spending $41.80 for the ride, he prefers to borrow my p&s camera and guide me through Beale Street; I’d give him $40.00 even and the ice-creams are on him.
Of course I took his deal, and started to shot pictures. So, this is the first one to share with you, taken of the Ride-The-Ducks-of-Memphis’ photographer.

Unusual perspective. Good close-up picture. Nicely composed.

Really lovely your today story! Relaxing... just a short introduction to a place (Beal Street) that we are going to explore in the next pictures.
I think you did a good deal :))) saying yes to your nephew, so you got the pictures (and so do we :) not to mention the ice-creams :)))
Looking forward to see what came out of $40.00 :)))
A good composition to start, very suggestive (as I said just an introduction to the place), a good DOF!

During these days after a long trip, I am sorry I was so busy to follow your path.
I am glad I do not miss this beautiful catch with vivid color and sharpness. It's simple, but that's enough as a hint to local activities.
