This guy is a farmer from Gilt Edge, Tennessee. a town that appears to be not much more than a crossroads 30 miles north of Memphis.

He was selling his Gilt Edge berries at the Memphis Farmer's Market this Saturday Morning. They were some sweet strawberries. I asked him where in hell Gilt Edge was and why was it named that - he had some countrified anecdotes to share with me - so I shot a couple while we talked.

Did I mention how nice the folks were in Memphis? Everyone was extremely nice, really helpful and sometimes I was afraid to engage them in conversation for fear of having to chat for the next 15 minutes... Even the bums were nice to you before they hit you up for money. Some of them carried an umbrella to hold for you when you shot a picture!

We had a nice time at the Memphis Farmer's Market, bought some berries and some local honey - good thing we got the strawberries because our next meal was going to be delayed. Probably should have asked one of the folks here where to find a decent place for breakfast...
