[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As we were leaving the Iris Gardens, I had to cross a bit of grass to get to the gate. I spotted these three swans lined up as though they were about to have a foot race. Thought that was pretty funny.

I believe these three are Bewick swans.

The Bewick swan is native to Northern Russia from the Kanin Delta to the Lena Delta. The swan has also migrated to parts of Japan and winters in the British Isles, Northern Europe, Denmark, and Ireland. Their nests are generally made on small islands in river estuaries and lakes, or near tundra pools. They usually lay three to five eggs, which are incubated by the female alone for 29-30 days. Bewick swans pair up for life, and the death of one partner usually leads to the death of the other.

Your titles always make me smile. It must be nice to be surrounded by such beautiful birds! Another really great picture Shelly . TFS

Hello Shelly. Lucky tree on your 305th post. well lined in a good marching sequence. Excellent sharpness and exposure of this pleasant shot. thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hello Shelly,

A very good title to the image; and certainly "putting your ducks in a row" would not work. Your informative note informs well on the Bewick swan.

Warm regards,

Bulent

Hi Shelly,
Fine capture of these beautiful snow white swans. The lush green grass contrast wonderfully with their brilliant plumage. They protect their nest with a hiss and a painful bit if you get too close. Marvelous birds and your note so aptly describes.
Regards, Tom

Great shot Shelly. The exposure is well handled and we see detail in both the light and dark sides. Did you get a shot if the winner?
Phil

Philippe
