I was outdoors yesterday afternoon and there were SCADS of honeybees. More than I have seen in ages. I don't know about the rest of the world, but here there was concern at the disappearance of bees. Without the bees to polinate plants, we'd be in a world of hurt. I have heard there is a possibility that cell phone signals caused them to get confused and lose their way. I don't know about all that, but it's sure good to see them back.

Hey Shelly,
Excellent macro of this hard working inscet. Wonderful action shot of her hard working wings. The background is a perfect vibrant green that makes bumble bee pop right off the page. Spring flowers! In these parts it just getting above freezing.
Regards, Tom

Nicely done Shelly
You have the bee nice and sharp with motion in its wings. Also the BG is blurred sufficently to allow the eye to focus on the bee and his landing spot. How many shots did you take to get this one?
Phil

This is lovely, a great mix of sharp and unsharp. spring is just beginning here in Holland and this makes me yearn for some warm sunshine !

Hello Shelly
You did a great job here. Great details of flowers in the foreground and the flying honeybee. Excellent vivid color. I miss summer. Congratulations!
Best regards
Denis!

Hello Shelly,
this is superb! Love the luscious green with a little touch of purple of the wildflower (birds foot trefoil?). But most especially the bees' wings.

Hi, Shelly -

Not perfect, but a great capture! And even at this fast shutter speed, the wings are still blurred, too.

We're having a lot of problems with bees dying off, and although cell phones have been suggested, no one really knows why. Might be a new virus.

Best,
Dan

Hi Shelly, Great colours & light, this is a very nice macro of this little creature, I love the movement in the bees wings & the way you have manages to stop him as he hovers above that beautiful flower, perfect shallow DOF &, nicely framed, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Shelly. We have a surplus of bumble bees here at the moment and I have been busy with my camera trying to catch them also. Great photo, part macro and part action. Wonderful colours also. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.
