Photographer’s Note
It rained off and on all day yesterday and then about sunset, the clouds behind us cleared and off toward the east was this MAD rainbow. It stayed for the longest time, too, and was SO vivid. I took scores of shots of it and I was pretty happy with this one. I did some adjustments to the highlights & shadows, color balance, reduced the noise, but that was one serious rainbow. Hope you enjoy it.

I like the composition: fine and essential in order to enhance the view of the true protagonist: this really vivid rainbow. (I would have chosen another frame though...) The long curve of the rainbow creates a kind of diagonal.
Best greetings,

Dear Shelly,
What an evening that must have been! No wonder you kept shooting. Interesting that the secondary bow has more red, less yellow than the primary. I wonder what the original shot was like.
Have a peaceful Sunday,
Winifred

Hi Shelly
You really captured a full range of colours and an echo to boot. The light is fabulous but then again it is always nice if a rainbow is present.
Well done.

A rare double rainbow, Shelley. I'm glad to see you back. I was away for three weeks, but on a working vacation. You are probably not interested in the physics of a rainbow, preferring its romantic beauty to its technical aspects. But in my image posted a couple of months ago, "a Footbridge Between Cliffs," I had cited the cold physics of the rainbow. I'm sure you had commented on it at the time.
Warmest regards,
Bulent

On your place, I should do the same, dear Shelly. But it is easy to say. God offered to you two rainbows and spectacular light. There is also your skill reaction and generosity. Many thanks friend,
Branko
