A baby bird in WINTER??? Photo

Photographer’s Note

I was outside yesterday and saw some bluebirds flying around. They are the prettiest little things, but are they ever FAST. I went in and got my camera just in case. I looked around and I saw a bird in the tree next door. He very sweetly sat there for the longest time and let me snap pictures. It looks like a baby version of the meanest, most aggressive birds around here. But baby birds in the winter time? That seemed really odd to me. Maybe they're just mean enough to do whatever they FEEL like doing. :)))

Hello Shelly,
You have utilised a perfect pov; nice background and a partial view of a dry leaf which creates a perfect graphism.
Nice info's as well. But I don't think that it's a baby bird. I make the same experience around my weekend house where I have installed some 15 wooden boxes. İf the summer was too long and the birds been feeded well, it can happen that a "late" generation adds to the family !

Hi Shelly
Not a baby anymore, just a bird smaller then the other ones.
The capture is good, the light in his eyes is well reflected and I like the ways the leaf covers part of its body.
I like birds in the winter, they gives so much life to the cold world around us.

Hi Shelly,
This pretty little cubby bird made a fine pose on this narrow perch long enough for you to gather lovely sharp details and impressive clear colors.
I think I saw her flying past my window in late October.
I love how her perch points skyward and of course the lush muted green backdrop.

I like this, especially your POV as I ca imagine you standing there shooting upward, all the while muttering staty, stay. And this little bird duly obliged.His eye says that he knows you are there but on balance has decided that you are no threat. I like the inclusion of the twigs that he sits on and the autumn leaf. Very pleasing.

Nicely done. You have catchlight in the eye and good detail in his feathers. The NG is soft and out of focus so as not to compete with the bird.

The leaves look real enough to break, the feathers to stroke. Are your birds really that lovely soft shade of blue? Never seen such, here, so thank you.
