Photographer’s Note
I thought this was a very strange-looking tree. My friend and I drove past it every Sunday on our way to church. One day we left early so we had time to stop and take pictures. It had just finished raining, so we had to walk through a very wet field to get close enough for pictures, but it was worth it!
In the United States, trees like this are usually cut down because they might fall on power lines or buildings. I guess this one was still standing because it was not near anything that could be damaged if it fell.
Sorry about the lack of sharpness; I have trouble getting scans to come in as sharp as the originals, especially if the originals were printed on matte paper.

Beautiful image, well done.
I like the contrast between the Autumn colours of the land and the nice light blue of the sky.

Hi Erin.
The light for this one is superb. I also like the way you composed your view and the beautiful depth. It's a bit of a pity it appears a bit blurry, but the TE limits for file size are probably responsible for that.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Erin. I like the warm and contrasty light in this photograph. I think I would have composed this with the tree a little more to the right though. When photographing 'minimalist' scenes like this, I find it works best if you stick to the 'rule of thirds'. Cheers . . . David

Nice photo, I like such atmosphere, I suppose it's autumn, when the trees are leafless, the wind is getting colder and there are no people, too lazy to walk out when it's not warm enough! ;)
This photo lacks sharpness [LOL, I've just read through your note, you've used exactly the same words ;)], but it's hard to avoid when scanning...

Hi Erin!
This truly is an unusual tree. You showed it nicely in the autumn scene. I bet the tree deserves a closer look, maybe another photo?

Hello Erin,
Nice composition with the good light falling on the well placed tree.
Good colors, maybe a little lack of sharpness.
