Photographer’s Note
Air-balloon race in South Carolina - they had to fly above map-marked spots, throw sand sacks on their 'x' marks on the ground and win the race by speed and aiming precision.
Hitting those marks is not that easy as it may seem - it takes visual appreciation, good aiming and good estimation of speed and wind direction and force. I helped a team get their balloon unfolded and filled, followed the race by car and then helped them fold it back and load it in the van. It was fun! They happend to land in someone's backyard - safely of course...
