View from West Columbia Riverwalk Photo

Photographer’s Note

This park is part of the River Alliance - as an effort to reconnect the citizens of Columbia with the three rivers that flow through the city. This photo is looking toward where the Broad and Saluda rivers join to become the Congeree. It's beautiful, too. There are rapids that boaters and kayakers float down (we saw some out today, in fact) and huge boulders down the center where you can stop and enjoy the river. Between the 3 trees in my shot and the frame on the right there is a guy out on the rocks with his dog - looked like the guy was reading the paper sitting on a large inner-tube. Fabulous day, though. Sunny, nearly 80 degrees. It was wonderful.

Great scenery with marvellous perspective!
The agitation of the water creates a live image!
Lighting is very good and every detail is present!
I like the frame.

Hi Shelly
This image is well composed with the four trees on the right acting as a frame to bring the eye into the middle. There is a triangle in the large rocks- FG to left side to the centre of the image. Nicely exposed as well.

It's hard to believe that this lovely scene is in the middle of a city. The trees are perfectly placed in this photo. And a very suitable frame. Glad you had such an enjoyable day, Shelly.

Tis lovely river is surrounded by lush green trees that contrast brilliantly with the blue sky.
The colors are fantastic with excellent sharpness.
This looks like a great place to spend a lazy afternoon at.
Up here the trees are just starting to bud.

Hard to believe this is in a city. Very nice relaxing image, with the group of 3 trees on the right balanced well by the larger group of slightly more distant trees on the left.

South Carolina is such a nice place, and this is a nice representation of the state and the city of Columbia. I like how "fresh" the photo is, too, taken and shared the same day! What a wonderful looking day, as well.

Very clear and sharp, nice pov and composition that draws my eyes to explore the entire scene.
