I saw it on the thumbnail and I knew straight away it was Charleston...
Wonderful one, Shelly! It's been a long time since I was standing here... It brings back lots of good memories, thanks for sharing.

Definitevely - a piece of history of that region, Shelly...
There is never enough of it - when I'm in there...
Just came back from Savannah !!!!!!!!!!
Oh, good Lord...
What an incredible city... What a great lesson of history !! (including a piece of our very own - Kazimierz Pulaski !)
.............
Shelly...I'm too lazy to look for them in Wikipedia...
What are the names of those wonderfull trees in Savannah (and Charleston as well, I believe) - which create those wondrous corridors or, shall I say - tunnels on almost every street...?
The tunnels of the incredible beauty and grace...
all the best

Hello Shelly,
The homes are very beautiful however, as you stated in your ote, the slaves who made the owners money to build such opulent homes had to endure a hard life. The light seem fine in the image. The shadows created by the trees and columns hit the facade in the right direction so details are clearly visible. Nice work.

Hello Shelly,
When I first opened up your excellent photo from the thumbnails my first reaction was the movie "Gone with the Wind". Your photo does a great job of capturing the elegance and fine living of the long gone Southern landed aristocracy. With harsh midday lighting this shot would not have worked, but the more diffuse and warmer late afternoon lighting made this shot happen. This is a great architectual photo and as your notes stated this was not a glorious time for the oppressed Southern slaves. Beautiful work!

A nice exposure even if it is in the harsh light of afternoon. Great POV and DOF.

Good morning Selly! I am glad that you gave this gunfire the amazing this house!!! with the columns(!) korines, in and outside balconies and the lines frame, in the colour and the windows etc and I realise that the residents of S. C. had perception for their residences and they are with the love big to the classic and new-classic architects, If I see with detail and speak I say many!, I leave the picture him to say alone all!

Hi Shelly,
You managed the difficult lighting very well getting tranquil soft shadowns on the facade of this old beauty. The intricate details of the columns and lovely veranda are very well seen and the colors are bright against the January sky.
Regards, Tom
I would really love to travel and see these homes, they look so gorgeous! A great picture Shelly capturing the beauty.
