| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
In Oklahoma's Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, it is the bison, not the motorist, who owns the road. In the refuge, bison and longhorn cattle are free-ranging, able to move about as they please.
This photo was taken at dusk under overcast skies. I wish I had captured this photo in better conditions, or that I had a better setting on my camera. |

Hello Randy,
This is a nice capture and one that tourists who are not familiar with these large and unpredictable beasts should learn from. The people in your photo wisely watched from the safety of their Jeep. I have seen foolish tourists walk right up to full grown 3000 pound bulls and take photos of them less than three feet away. They are nuts! My wife has always wanted to take a trip to NW Oklahoma but I keep on procrastinating. This looks like country well worth visiting. Good work and thanks for sharing.
Stan
