Nice idea, Margo! I always found essential to turn around statues and catch many details which would have remained unsuspected otherwise. An many of my previous postings on TE (and all of them on TL) are exemples of such attemps, I hope...
Too bad the weather was awful when you took this picture, for sunshine really shows the art of the sculptor, behind the impressiveness of its subject...
Personally, I would have tried to show the different sides of the statue by following an unique set of rules: putting the socle at the same level on all photos, keeping the same height... I feel it would have greatly enhanced the multiple point of view you wished to share with us.

This is a really nice presentation of the statue Margo - beats all the pompous statues of generals we have in the UK!
