I like the idea here... the tilt to the left is a bit distracting, and I think you could get a much more impressive picture if you crop to the central tower and the flanking gun batteries, so they completely dominate the picture.
If you're going for a lot of empty space to emphasize the desolation, I think perhaps you need even more empty space, so exactly the opposite of what I just said before!
