Photographer’s Note

Nearly a panoramic view to the north. Visability was very good this day. Probably 20 to 30 miles. I will certainly bring along a tripod on another trip in the future and pick a better time of day also.

Great view, John. I've done an amount of traveling in the US already, but your Pilot Mountain travelogue and pics show me that there is yet so much more worthwhile to see. I think this one is a nice capture, which gives me a feeling of "being there". I like how you included some of the hill in the foreground, and the visibility is wide and impressive. Good shot, even though as you wrote at a different time of day or with slightly different light this might be much more stunning.
