i love shooting artwork, in this case, a detail of a sculpture by niki de saint phalle (in a park in charlotte, north carolina)
i don't often shoot the total piece, but rather bits & pieces of it, and in that way making it my own vision or creation ... sometimes the sum of the parts really is greater than the actual whole, i feel.
a fascinating artist, niki de saint phalle is said to have settled many scores with men, especially her father, through her art, all of which turned her into a twentieth century phenomenon.

While the colors are vividly captured here and the visual textures soothing to the eyes, it is interesting to note that you took this shot with a statement. It is true that there are compositions within a larger composition and you have indeed shown it here. Lovely shot!!
