Photographer’s Note

The Mt. Pisgah Inn sits at an elevation of 5000 ft. along the Blue Ridge Parkway south of Asheville, NC. This southwest-facing view was taken at about 5 PM from the deck of the Inn. A warm, dry autumn delayed the onset of fall this year, so folliage was still colorful.

Hi Howard
I can imagine the expanse of the ridges from your photo. IMHO this composition can perhaps be improved if there is a more distinct subject. Although the title is 'blue ridge', the actual ridge takes up only about 20% of the frame at most, while half the picture is dominated by shrubs, while the title subject (ala 'the ridge') seems a bit washed out because of metering. I don't know about the physical condition of this locale but perhaps taking the ridge from another less obstructed vantage point might have been better.
