I love the mystery of photographing people wearing masks ...
One more insight into the kind of people who live and play in Asheville ~ this time on a theme of gold & black.

so, you even have a carnival of venice in america! this should be why many americans never need to explore the world: they have "the most" of everything under their hands... and what a close up this is! i guess it is a crop, and i love crops, when they are such effectively done. i see, hiding behind a masked stranger, you didn't miss the chance to capture a baldie again :PP

This is a very nicely spotted scene, very well cropped and to be honest, slightly scary! Like you mention in your note, I too love taking photos of masks, but these Venetian ones always remind me of vampires for some reason. I guess because so many vampire movies are set in the original era of these masks. That we cannot see this persons eyes makes it a little more intriguing too.
Thanks again, and happy Christmas
