Taking a break from Barcelona to show you a few shots from my own town ~ the Battery Park Book Exchange and Champagne Bar in downtown Asheville is one of my favourite haunts. After all, what's not to like? Cosy atmosphere, thousands of books, champagne (and Prosecco), and the occasional Great Dane perched on one of the leather couches :)

Your ancestors were Great Danes, weren't they? :-)
What a cosy place this seems to be. The combination of books and champagne sounds like a great idea. The red and green interior and the soft light does a lot to the atmosphere. I doubt that a dog would be allowed into a similar place in Sweden. On the other hand I've never heard of a Book Exchange and Champagne Bar here.
PS I love the title. The dog really looks like that is what's on its mind.

Well Gert just said it all….
The red and white shoe is also an attractive center piece, with the toes pointing at the Dane!

What an amazing scene -- I love it! The many little visual delights present a "Where's Waldo?" feel -- every detail reveals another interesting element as it catches your eye! The Eiffel Tower, the magnificent draperies (is that a reflection of the tree that they reveal?), the MacBook, the exterior scene (it's on O Henry Street? really? how perfect!), the bare-shouldered woman (evening gown? cocktail dress?), the woman in the hoodie with her back to us, down to the fascinating little glimmer on the bar at the far right. This image is a box of chocolates, but (as your title suggests!) the cherry on top is the dog (awaiting the WS portrait!), who has caught the whole cool and relaxed vibe. Excellently captured, tfs!
You know, of course, that I would have felt compelled to dodge the dog a bit just to direct the (lazier) viewers' eyes, but I love it as is... a little more work makes the experience more rewarding for the inquisitive viewer!

this is a wonderful impression of daily life and living conditions! You have captured this interesting scenery where the dog also plays an important role very well. Thanks for sharing and my compliments for the nice title!

hi kris. i love interior photos, and this one is no exception with its indeed cosy atmosphere, warm color palette and rich details. the great dane does steal the show. and that eiffel on the table: you could have well sold it as a parisian street scene with people in it. and the last but not least, you do have a foot in the photo :))

Nice observation! This place looks warm and inviting, and why shouldn't the dog enjoy it, too?! I like the relaxed body language of the patrons. I notice the Eiffel Tower on the table, too. It's a lovely daily life view.
