Asheville is a funny town. Within moments of photographing street musicians and tattooed bodies, you can find yourself stumbling over a Tesla on a muddy road down by the river that runs through the arts district.
This is not a typical "Kristin's Camera" photograph but, hey ... it's a Tesla! :)
A friend took me for a ride in one a few months ago, as a birthday treat. All I can say is ... wow! I have never experienced acceleration like that, it literally took my breath away.
Curious about the current cost of one, I checked out their website this morning. Under a page called "the true cost of ownership," it has the funniest rationale I've ever seen for justifying what is (at least to me) a whopping sticker price.
At least it didn't cost anything to take the photographs ;)

Oh, K, you've caught our car-foto virus! Sorry to have exposed you (pun intended).
First, to the foto -- you have found and spotlighted a great set of curves! (Note that the body is a copy of the Lotus Elise; Elon's boys knew how to both cut a few corners and start with a perfect platform for their project!) The reflections show us the world -- the road, the river, the parking lot, the sky, and even mirror the car's own little charger flap. (But alas, not the photographer!)
Electric cars... I think the jury is still out. The bugaboo is batteries -- until there is a giant leap in battery technology, they are way too heavy for the power they can hold. Hence the damnable short ranges of electrics. The unfortunate fact, the inconvenient truth, is that when measured by power produced per pound, nothing can match liquid fuels and an internal combustion engine. Yesterday a friend alerted me to a possibly better approach: google "Elio." $6800!
Still, Tesla cars are as good as they can be. But hoooo-weeee, yes... they pricey!
Have a great day!

I like the POV chosen to take this photo of this electric sport car. A very good crop.
Yes - I would like to have it :-)

The design is fine and it really looks expensive, but I am so totally ignorant of cars that I even had no idea there was a car called Tesla. The only Tesla I knew about was THE Tesla, the original Serb guy from Croatia. But looking at the Tesla website I realize how much money I have saved by not wasting time at gas stations. I should be rich by now.

It is a great car, no doubt, but your photograph did it justice with the reflection captured and the particular attractive POV. Good photo job

Whoa, another unexpected photo from you...this one really caught me off guard! :) I imagine this jumps right out of your comfort zone, but it's always good to expand and try new subjects....and you've done a delightful job with this one. I've mentioned it a number of times before on previous car shots, that I'm not much of an enthusiast in any way, but I sure do appreciate the beauty.
This may be a bit of a stretch, but it plays right into the admiration of their style. The first thing that came to mind for me is a song from O.M.D., "Tesla Girls." Being that many object are referred to in a female context, I thought it was a fitting association with this automobile to the lyrical content...strong, beautiful and smart, with brains and sophistication.
Love the bright and shiny reflection and angle taken to display this impressive car. Thanks for giving us this look. Have a pleasant evening. Take care,
Friendly regards from the desert,
