[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken on a March day, just before all the spring revival starts around the lake.
Historic Lake Roland, created by a dam built just before the Civil War and located in city-owned Robert E. Lee Park, hasn’t been a source of drinking water for more than a century. The water quality is actually dismal as the dam is mainly fed by run-offs. Nevertheless it is a close-by location to escape from the city and watch some birds.
