Photographer’s Note

in Grantsville, MA.

The construction of this bridge took place in the 19th century, at the time when engineers knew less in Math than today's high school graduates.
The parabola like shaped bridge is not used anymore. There is a new steel structure built 100 m from here. Not so elegant, but much more efficient.
The bridge and its reflection, altogether create a quasi-oval shape, quite close to the ellipse.
