I like the point of view on this photo, the perspective is much better than if you only featured the house straight on. The moody fading sunlight helps highlight the abandoned look. Well taken!

Great capture, Chris. The shot has a nice golden tone, yet appears ghostly and foreboding. All in all a nice shot here.

Now that is my kind of picture! I have a fetish for old abandoned houses, and this one is a beauty! The architecture of the eaves, and the half-circle window are awesome.
Good photo.

Hi Christopher,
Rarely I’ve seen such a striking photo of abandonned house. Instead of looking creepy, the sun and surrounding make it nostalgic. The warm light is absolutely fantastic and the composition is impeccable. I like the way you have used forefront trees to frame the main subject.
Nice shot!

it is an interesting photo for sure..with the joyfull clouds and warm wood colors it is very hopefull and livefull also..however, at second glance you get the "left behind" feeling which is not that much hopefull ofcourse..so it is a suprising photo...great capture..

Hi Chris:
The way you presented the picture, it does look like an haunted house. May be M. Night Shyamalan should choose this house for his next venture:)

Hi Christopher
Interesting that the house is abandoned. It would look beautiful if fully refurbished. The classic character and look to it is interesting. I like the capture you've made in the warm and soft light, this gives the shot an extras glow and quality. Nice work.

Brilliant shot!!! I know the feeling you get when having passed a good photo opportunity a few times, finally desiding to take your chances and make the shot and finding out you made a brilliant shot. As you did here . Great job!!

Hi Christopher - it's a great shot, the evening colours are captured well & the composition is very good. Nice viewpoint & the trees on either side provide a good frame for the house itself.

Hi Christopher
this is indeed a very good one, the evening colormood, the perspective on the old house right, the bordering tree left wit a contrasting gradiant nice blue cloudy sky, perfctly sharpened.
Henk
Chris,
This is really a nice composition. I love angle with which you took this shot. A new photographer, just like me, would have gone with the simple door facing shot or would have taken the close-up of the house (which we all know would have looked dull). This is terrific composition and the gradient of the sky is amazing. I love it.

Hey Christopher, I've really enjoyed your additions to the Maryland gallery on this site. Your skies and empty homes are great!

Nice time of day for this shot. It has such a ghostly feel to it. There's a life to the house that still exists in its current state as a ruin. The lighting, the angle and the landscape add to that. The frame of trees gives it a quaint feel. It looks like the fire has happened long ago, perhaps as far back as the depression and it's been sitting as this shell since then. And along with the ghost life of this house it has a wholesome rural all American sort of feel as though kids are running around, pie is in the windows and people are relaxing after a long day. Well taken Christopher.
Chris...this is a very "moody" photo...interesting note that makes the imagination wander - very nostalgic. Specially like the lighting, angle of view. Muy Bueno !
saludos, Robert
PS Hope you do not mind I added a WS...just could not stop my imagination...! Hope you like and do not mind.

Well I realized I have not commented on this photo of yours. A lovely scene indeed in the evening sunlight. Words like Desertion, Empty, Void, What once Was come to mind. At any rate the scene evokes such a mood. There's a crop of corn to be harvested soon in the field over yonder. But the children no longer play on this front porch. This is a place of the past now.

Hello Christopher
3d smile for your empty house project.
In Holland these houses are very very rare. There's to little space for to many people. Every m² has its destination.

Hello Chris
A photo filled with nostalgia & the light, subdues also seems to help the effect. I notice how the clouds seem to converge at the building as if radiating out of it. The tree branches on the top & the left have been used well for framing. Good work my friend
Regards
Angshu
