Photographer’s Note
Greetings everyone.
I figured this matched the theme of an earlier post of mine. Instead of the morning commute this time, we are looking at the afternoon commute. The day has grown long and life dulls a little after working for hours on end. It is time to try to relax and enjoy the small bit of time away from the great moneymaker. Yet, it can be the most frustrating part of the day for some. I did not have that experience today.
This is the same bridge as my previous post in Benedict Maryland. There is much history in this small town. This is the site of the British landing in the war of 1812 as they set out to burn Washington Dc. Also Benedict was the location of a training camp for African American soldiers during the American Civil War. For a town that takes 1 minute to drive through, it has an amazing amount of interest.
I do have alot of photos of a very small area, but I find that the more you visit an area the more intimate your photos become. I'm only trying to show the true face of the area in which I live.
Regards,
Chris.
Shot at 10mm. Frame, shrink, sharpen.

Chris you certainly timed this one nicely with this truck in the perfect position in the photo. I love the perspective and the way you are simply showing the world what your world looks like. I love the wide angle aspect here too. I am seriously thinking of getting a wide angle lens like this too. Perhaps Sigma or better yet go for the Canon 10-22mm wide. We will see...Thanks for sharing!

Another great shot of Maryland! Nice detail in the foreground with the blurred car on the bridge emphasizing the diagonal lines. Good use of a gray sky and thanks for the background info!

Hi Christopher,
Its so nice to see mine initials on the bridge;R.M. ha ha ha
Sometimes graifiti says a million words to the viewrs.
The POV with perspective definitely suits your moods and the the motion blurr increases the beauty of your shot.

Hi Chris.
I understand what you mean when you talk about a small place and getting to know it intimately,as I live in a small village.
The main attraction of this photo is not the bridge or the graffiti, but the going truck, giving the impression that it doesn't want to stay there too long.
Good night

Hello Chris
Your timing is great here because I think you captured the truck in a very good position. I like the blur casued by the speed. The perspective with the diminishing diagonal of the bridge is perfect, with the graffiti in the FG. I think the beauty of the shot is that you make me look through your eyes to your world & there lies your success
Well done friend

Interesting how often we take for granted the history of our own little niches. I like the note you wrote about this picture. The picture itself is simple yet it shows a great deal of history in images. Very good point of view to capture most of the bridge and the truck speeding through it. I am glad you post pictures of your little town. I can see many of the sights there are very nice. Cheers :-)

Hi Christopher,
First of all the point of view you choose. The low pov works very well for your composition. Then the movement of the truck. It is great and with this perspective throught the bridge the result is very well seen!

Hello Chris,
I like the POV, well framed with good DOF. Very sharp and clear shot, the motion blur of the vichel on the bridge adds life to this shot.

Hello Christopher,
This is a very nice image and the timing is really perfect. A very good wide angle composition with a perfect usage of the focal length, the perfect diagonal of the bridge ending on these colored tags. Very well done.
I had a lot of pleasure reading your note and loved your expression of "great moneymaker" which I didn't know. I think it is very good for qualifying this crazy system in which we are living.
Congratulations for this great work.
Best regards. Christian

Hello Chris
Although I spent my last week holiday l000 km from home, and I think I made some pictures that are worth posting on TE, I agree with your ply for small area-photographing.
Your picture is nice composed, moving car inclusive.
Greetings,
Huub.
