Photographer’s Note

This is the same lake, the Roland Lake featured in the photo above, seen in happier days of plentiful water. Due to a very dry October, the lake has dried up and the water is reduced to a small stream. The ducks have left for greener and moister pastures. Fall leaves are blowing around, and the tree trunks normally submerged in the water are all exposed, laying there like corpses. I went down to the lake bed with my dog and we both got covered with putrid mud. My daughter complained that we smelled like the hippo house when I got back.
The park (The Robert E. Lee Park) is still beautiful but I found the vanishing lake very depressing, although the day was bright and clouds puffy.

Hello Mister Mc Donnell,
I see here a very nice old painting, exactly the painting school in Belgium during the 18 century
Ther can you find almost the same images.
Nice composition and very soft colours.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

Good balance nb between your photo and note. The drying lake with the fall leaves scattered around indicates some climate changes of the place. The low pov good for this compo.

Hi NB,
Lovely late autumn shot of the dry lake bed that contrast so brilliantly with the vivid cloudless blue sky.
Love the lone leaf fluttering to the grond.
Regards, Tom
