Photographer’s Note

The Baltimore Orioles play in one of the many new baseball parks around the USA.

Gone forever (hopefully) are the round, cookie-cutter stadiums like Pittsburgh's 3-Rivers Stadium, Philadelphia's Veteran's Stadium, old Busch Stadium in St. Louis and Riverfront in Cincinnati. One of the other problems with those old, round stadiums was artificial turf instead of real grass. The temperature in the summer would sometimes hit 140 degrees F on the playing surface.

Two new stadiums are now being built in New York and in 2009 both the Mets and the Yankees will be playing in brand new ball parks.

Here's a piece of real good advice: When you go to an Orioles game in Baltimore be sure to get there early enough to get a plate of Boog Powell's bar-b-que. His resaurant is located in right field, just in front of that building you see in this photo. Boog's BBQ is some of the best I have ever tasted.
