Photographer’s Note
Hello all.
This is another shot from Baltimore Maryland. I spent a lo ng portion of this day watching the people who were watching a particular street performer. So many faces to look at, so many different personalities apparent just form the expressions.
As I looked, and drew the "eye" of the performer, this young man walked up and sat down to have a look. Given how crowded the day was, he sat without a soul around him ...I thought that a bit odd.
The young man seemed to enjoy himself just fine.
Cropped a little bit off the bottom to put him a little closer to the bottom.
Shot at 200mm...convert, frame, shrink, sharpen.
Regards,
Chris.

Another excellent black and white from you Chris. I love the expression of the boy staring at something that obviously caught his mind. Very interesting perspective with a most naural look. I guess something that makes your pictures unique is the fact that you have a keen sense to picture people when they least most expect it. This is awesome :-)

Hi Christopher,
Nice composition. This kind of event offer great opportunities to shoot. I like the way all the legs appear in the picture giving the idea that the boy was in such a priviledge place in the audience. His face is amusing and the B&W works well here. I would like also to see another possibility showing these people faces on the backgroud and the boy, if you took such a shot It would be very interesting to see it posted here also.
Best Regards,
Flavia

Hello Cris,
J'aime bien l'expression du visage du gamin,il y a un partie sur la droite qui n'apporte rien;je l'ai suppprimée dans un WS ,mais en sépia.

Hi Chris - a good, candid street shot, capturing the expression on the boy's face as he watches the performance. I would maybe suggest a bigger aperture to shorten & DOF & blur our the people standing behind him, then again I find my eye being drawn to the boy before all else so it's fine! Good B&W conversion too.

Well Chris, You do notice things and subjects well. The li'l guy has an impish smile on his face. I like how the legs appear in the picture to show & maybe imagine the context of the scene. But I feel the photo is a bit dark...problem with my monitor or did you intentionally keep it this way? Another thing I like here is the off-centre placement of the kid. Works well here..a good shot, well seen & exceuted

Hello Christopher,
What about his sun glasses and smiley? How many year older he now? Look at his eyes and necktie. Probably from father and how proudly looks he has. You really catch a decisive moment. Your detailed story and wonderful B&W works add great value. Congratulations.

Hi Christopher,
Yes, he does look like a Joe Cool with the sunglasses hanging on the shirt and all. He really is enjoying the show you can see by his expression and he is not bothered at all that nobody is near him he is content. Excellent choice of B&W. Thank you so much for sharing.
Cheers,
Debbie

Hello Chris,
I see you've posted many great shots since I last visited you...Good for you!!:D
YEs, the expression on his face is genuine and just that makes the shots! The crop is very good too. Joe cool looks so absorbed that he just lost his cool and could'nt prevent on smiling...
HAve a nice day buddy,
Marc

This young fella certainly does look cool with his shades tucked inside his dress shirt. I guess he could wear them on top of his head too. I notice quite the contrast between him and the thick legs above him and those baggy pockets on the pair of legs behind him too. You have a good talent in capturing photos of people Chris. It must take patience for this kind of thing. You always seem to manage to capture some interesting photos in crowds like this. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Chris,
Wonderful moment photography. These are the shots which you will find not easily. I like the joyful expression of the boy. Nice work. The legs in the background makes it even a stronger composition.

Hello Chris,
this is a marvellous moment. The boy's face is full of mischief mixed with innocence. Perhaps rather the former. Also nicely composed. An excellent work, adorable as well :-)
