Photographer’s Note
While taking pictures at my son's lacrosse game a storm came on us suddenly. Everyone ran to the pavilion for cover. As I stood there waiting for the storm to pass the bright cloud came by and framed the flag. I had time to shhot one image.
I have cloned out a fence in the bottom right of the image and converted all but the flag to grey scale.
I had the camera set for the bright conditions tha existed prior to the storm and did not have time to change it when I took the shot. I feel fortunate to have salvaged the shot.
I don't have any idea as to how my name got in the image backwards!

Very dramatic photo, Lynn. Those storms that come up quickly are quite typical here in Florida - I like the line of dark and light just above the trees. Normally the center composition of the flag pole might be distracting, but the symmetry works here. Great capture of the ominous white cloud behind the flag too. I like your choice of converting all but the flag to greyscale - nice effect.

Great shot
the flag looks lonely and sad
and yet standing proud. I love it,
good job Lyn

Hi Lynn, to me the strong point of this photo is the contrast created by the well lit flag on the dark and menacing background.

How did I miss this one? A very interesting shot, and use of B&W background. It could be used to make a point of some kind, esp. with that odd cloud behind. Neat. :o)
